Barry Stump was immersed into Christ at a gospel meeting on the banks of the Detroit River in Detroit Michigan in November of 1967. He was raised in the church in Royal Oak Michigan.
In 1970 he began his college education at Oklahoma Christian College. It was at Oklahoma Christian where he met his wife, Marie Childress. They married in August of 1970. They have two children of their own, Amy and Ryan. They also raised Marie’s niece, Kathy, due to the early death of Kathy's parents. All of their children are faithful Christians and married. Barry and Marie love spending time with their children and their families, reading, traveling, and hiking in the great outdoors.
Barry served as a deacon at the Putnam City congregation in Oklahoma City. He also has served this congregation as a deacon on two different occasions. He worked in education for this congregation on the teen level and also at the adult level.
He loves to learn and to teach. Barry is presently working on a Master's degree in Adult Education at the University of Central Oklahoma. He began serving as an elder at this congregation in
